Another Play Date and Back To Work

Today is such a bittersweet day for me. This is my last day of maternity leave and being home with my baby boy day after day. However, I am excited for Austin to be able to have time at home to bond with Camden this summer (just the two of them). I'm so happy that I'm going back to work on a Thursday which leaves me only two days before I have a weekend. Over the past twelve weeks Camden and I have enjoyed our special time together, and I will very much miss being home with him every moment of everyday. Camden has grown attached to Mommy, so it will be an adjustment for him not to have me home, but hopefully this will be a positive adjustment so that he may begin to enjoy the other special people in our lives (and not cry for Mommy and Daddy when others want hold him). We received a great surprise today. Mommy's work has allowed her to stay home on Wednesdays with Camden. It will be Wednesdays With Mommy. This is a wonderful example how God works miracles when you least expect them and that He truly knows what is best for each of us!

We had another playdate today at Mandi and Gabe Knepp's house. As ususal we had a nice time. It is so much fun to visit with other mommies and see the other babies grow and of course learn new tips/tricks from the other mommies. Thank you playdate mommies and babies for including us - we look forward to each and every playdate! Below is a picture of our playdate crew today.

He is Camden enjoying his Bumbo seat. He's getting so strong!

The neighbor cat had kittens in our garage this past weekend. Before we moved the kittens to their home we thought we'd better capture this shot.

Happy Birthday To Me!

This week has been so busy for us. On Wednesday, Camden and I traveled with my mom and aunt to Evansville to visit my sister. While in Evansville we did some shopping, more specifically, wedding gown shopping for my little sister. Before our trip I thought that I would envy her of the excitement of shopping for a wedding gown and planning a wedding just as I had almost 5 years ago. But, the thoughts of rewinding time back so that I could "replan" my wedding never even crossed my mind as I am enjoying being a new mommy more than anything. I would not change anything about my life right now as everything seems to be perfect. A wonderful husband and a precious baby boy is all I need, and I've got them both! Camden was such a trooper on our 13 hour shopping spree. Daddy better watch out as he's got two marathon shoppers on his hands now instead of just one! Thursday was my 26th birthday and I can't even describe the feeling of being greeted in bed with two sets of hugs and kisses wishing me a Happy Birthday. Austin gave me a "free" day to do whatever I wanted. Of course I spent the day with Austin and Camden. We started the day off by going in to my mom's to watch the American Idol finale on DVR. Then we came home in the afternoon and I was able to scrapbook (my favorite hobby) a few pages in Camden's baby book. Then in the evening we traveled back to my parents' house to have dinner to celebrate my birthday. I had a wonderful day. Thank you Austin, Camden, Mom, Dad, and Allie for making my day so special! Friday was another full day as Austin's brother and his wife and daughter came to visit for a bit. We do not see them often, so it was nice surprise to see them today. Friday evening we went to the North Daviess Graduation Ceremony to see Neil, my cousin, graduate from high school. Congratulations Neil on your special day. We are proud of you! Saturday we went to Austin's cousin's, Kelsey, Graduation Party. Congratulations Kelsey on your graduation. We are proud of you also. We spent most of Saturday outdoors as it was beautiful ouside and Camden loves the outdoors. We went to the neighbor's to visit and Camden go to play with Max (the neighbor's dog). Saturday evening we went to Hannah Scudder's graduation party. Great Job Hannah on your big accomplishment. We wish all the graduations the best of luck as they start a new chapter in their lives.

There is also a video clip of Camden expressing his emotions with Mommy which he has been doing quite a bit lately.

Thank God for Family

Austin, Camden, and I made it through the night last two nights without moving Camden back imto Mommy and Daddy's room. Camden did a great job and didn't seem to mind sleeping away from us. Daddy didn't mind too much either. As for me, I had a rough time getting to sleep the first night, but after Camden's early morning feeding I didn't have trouble getting back to sleep as I was exhausted. Thank goodness for baby monitors as I was able to hear every little move my little guy made which reassured me that he was OKAY. I'm sure all you Mommies must admit that you worry about your babies when you awake during the middle of the night.

Yesterday was an awesome day as we spent it together as a family! Austin and Camden spent some time together so that I could catch up on some sleep. When I crawled out of bed, I spent the rest of the morning playing with Camden while Daddy washed and waxed our vehicles. In the afternoon Camden got a bath and then we went to Wal-mart to buy a few necessities - diapers and wipes. And of course, we came home with lots of other stuff we probably don't need. We then went to our new favorite place to eat - Masons. We love their cheese fries! When we arrived home we went outside for some photos as we are trying to learn all about our new camera we bought a few weeks ago. We also traveled into town to take Camden for a walk and to visit Nana and Pappy. Camden had a busy day and is overly exhausted - Mommy and Daddy too.

Better go for now. Graduation parties have already began this weekend!

Planting Flowers and Moving Out

It was such a beautiful day outside today. Austin and I look Camden outside for a bit today to catch some fresh air and to plant a few flowers.
Camden is so much like Austin and LOVES to be outside. Camden can be roaring but before you can get both feet out the door his roar turns into a peaceful purr. I captured a few shots of our fun day outside today.

Austin finished up at school yesterday and we now have 2 full weeks of family time before I return to work. Honestly, I do not know how I will manage being away from Camden all day in a few weeks, but I know God will give me the strength I need. Our family is so fortunate that Austin gets to spend 3 months home with Camden. With me going back to work, Daddy and Camden will have some special father-son bonding time just like Mommy had some special mother-son time together the past few months. Before I head back to work, we thought it would be a good idea if we could get Camden moved from our bedroom in his bassinet to his room in the big boy crib.
I plan to get to work by 6:30 am each morning so that I can be home by 3 pm, and I will need as much uninterrupted sleep as I can get. Plus, Camden is now active enough to roll his bassinet around on hardwood floors in our bedroom which means he is getting too big for the bassinet. I'm having a tough time with this as he seems to be growing way to fast for me. The last 2 months have gone by so quickly I have to continue to remind myself to savor every minute before is becomes a memory! Tonight I was rocking Camden he grasped his blanky so tight. I hope this is comforting to him as he graduates out of his sleeping nest beside me. I know I will next extra comfort tonight as Camden will not be right next to me while he sleeps for the very first time. After Camden fell asleep I lied him in his crib and his eyes popped open and he was fully awake and ready to play. After a few minutes, he realized how tired he was and we rocked some more. He is finally sound asleep in his crib, and now it is Mommy's turn to try and get some sleep. We'll let you know a bit later how it goes (whether or not I'm able to sleep without my little guy beside me).

Smiley

We hope all you Mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day! We had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day at the Yake residence. I spent the day with my Mommy and she couldn't have asked for more! Here is a photo of Mommy and Me on our first Mother's Day.

This week I had my 2 month check-up with Dr. Cullen. I'm a healthy boy weighing 11 lbs. and 6 oz. and measuring 22 inches long. What can I say - I'm a growing boy!

This week I sat in my high chair for the first time. Mommy and Daddy were fixing dinner as I sat in my high chair and Daddy began to whistle. My response is captured in the picture below. These days I'm enjoying myself and will smile at anyone who will give me a bit of attention!

Ouchy Ouchy!

Hello Family and Friends! I am now 2 months old. See how big I'm getting! This week has marked many firsts for me. I can now hold my head up on my own, insert my hands and fingers into my mouth (Daddy's too), my first round of immunization shots, my first real tears, and the first time my Daddy got to feed me since we came home from the hospital. Here is a picture of me getting my shots. I did great job although I was not a happy camper. Then you'll see me snoozing. I slept so much the day I got my shots. You'll also see me sucking on my Daddy's big fingers along with my first bottle at home with Daddy!

Be back soon!

Love,
Camden
