A Lesson: Sharing

Camden a lick. Shadow a lick. Camden a lick. Shadow a lick.

Yes, off the same utensil. No, I am not kidding. Yes, it grossed me out.

And, yes, I was in the same room, but I was loading the dishwasher.

But, at least he is sharing, right?

Royal

Lately, I've been on a all.things.royal kick. Since the royal wedding, I just can't get enough. I want to read every book, view every photo, and watch every movie that has anything to do with the Windsor family. Oh and by the way, I'm not not a fast reader (especially with biographies) and not a movie watches (I can't stay awake). But, the topic interests me and brings me joy so I'm digging in and we'll see how far I get. I'm ready for the honeymoon to be over so I can see more photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Twenty-Nine

Today, I am celebrating my 29th birthday. Most of the time, I do not feel much older than I did when I turned 22 or 23 nor do I feel like I look any older. But, when I look at the photos below, I am reminded that I have aged - fast.

I see these two folks several times a week. They are new neighbors but very familiar faces. You know, the familiar faces that you have seen several times a week for the past 20 years. The faces who have seen you at your best and worst. Faces of people I genuinely love. Faces that once begged for me to play legos, Tonkas, read books, and watch Barney VCR tapes. Faces that would crawl up in the recliner and snuggle with me under a great big fuzzy blue and white Colts blanket (long before the Colts were successful) and await anxiously for their mom and dad to return home.

I vividly remember these one, two, and three year old faces. To see these such grown-up faces does indeed makes me feel 29.

I am grateful that Matthew and Sarah are sharing the same experiences with Camden that I was able to experience with them.

Mommy's Bubbles

It's true. My bubbles are the best. They smell good, they get you clean, and they fill the tub all the way to the rim (Camden's rim that is). There are no regrets here to choosing an air bath instead of a jet tub. Let's just say, we are getting our money's worth!

Gotta rinse the bubble smothered boy!

The Hunt

It just dawned on me this year that it may be the last he is crazy about his Easter basket. This makes me sad that he's growing up oh so quickly. Just maybe I'll get crafty and make a personalized basket that may stand the test of time. Then I won't have to be sad when I get out the Easter basket each year for the next 17 years.

Expectations {IKEA}

If you look close, you can see the sign. IKEA. I took very few photos as a friend, who is a much better photographer than me, captured the memories on her nice camera. Thankfully, friends share.

The IKEA trip idea came about several months ago. The date was set for 15 April. Many were invited but a few committed to the overnighter to West Chester, OH.

I've been wanting to visit IKEA for a year now, and finally I found some girls who are just as excited about this store as I am.

I expected to find lots of new decor for our home {at IKEA}. I expected that I would spend lots of money {thank goodness for a nice bonus from my employer a week before the trip}. I expected to eat good food. I expected to hit up some other sought after stores {at the Premium Outlet Mall}. I expected to be able to shop at a leisurely pace. Indeed, all expectations were exceeded.

What I did not expect is that I would leave with three other girls {sharing the same interest in IKEA} and come home {in less than 36 hours} with girls who I now all friends.

SY, MK, and LS:

Thank you for the great time we spent together a few weekends ago. The stories, laughs, treats, and experiences we shared together mark one of the best times of my twenties. I hope that our small circle of friendship strengthens as we continue to keep in touch!

A Nicer Ride

We don't ride much, but we like to. In fact, we didn't ride bikes even one time last summer. Riding a bike uphill on a gravel road - it is hard work. And for me, I don't even have the extra weight of Camden like Austin does. But now, bike riding is much more enjoyable just hop on the bike, ride down the driveway and ta da we're on a smooth paved road. I see more bike rides in our near future. I'm hoping the baby seat is "approved" for a 40 lb boy even though his feet are a bit too long for the foot rests.

Spring Sandals

Instead of sandals, we have been wearing these this spring. We've been looking forward to grass this summer, but I guess we'll have to wait until fall. In the meantime, we'll continue to break these puppies in. Well, Cam and I will need to break ours in as Austin's are already broken in, don't you think?

Lost

A few weeks ago, I found a yummy recipe online. Major goodness, but now I can't find it. What will I do? I suppose I'll look at this picture and drool.......

Here He Is

In case you have forgotten what my favorite boy looks like (since it has been so long since my last post), here you go.

And, some humorous quotes as of lately:

"Mom, I don't like your breath, can you eat something else." (in the morning as I am helping him potty)

"Can I wear upsleeves today and not downsleeves." (short sleeves versus long sleeves)

"Okay, whatever you are saying." (okay, whatever you say)
