My "Pap"

Tonight, while Austin was working on his truck, Camden and I went to Nan and Paps for dinner. Before leaving home, Camden was a bit fussy as he was getting hungry and tired. However, when I told him that we were going to eat with Pap he smiled and rushed to put on his boots so that we could get in the car and go see Pap.

The moment we pulled in the drive, he was looking for Pap. We got out of the car and he headed towards Paps shop across the street as he was sure Pap would be in there. I was able to coax him to the back door of the house and I couldn't seem to get him to go inside to find Pap. He started looking towards the sheep pasture hunting for Pap. Finally, Pap popped out of the back door and Camden runs with his arms wide open yelling "Paaaap!" He loves his Pap, you see. Anytime Pap is around, he follows him around like his shadow. After we ate dinner, Camden and Pap fed the sheep and then headed across to the street to Pap's new shop. Pap was working on hanging tin on the walls and Camden puttered around playing with Pap's tools.

After keeping an eye on Pap and Camden, Nana and I decided to go over and see what was going on. Camden was getting eaten up by the bugs (even though I drenched him in bug repellent) so we bribed Camden with ice cream to get him to come inside and bathe. Most of the time, an offer for ice cream will send Camden running to the house. Not tonight, he wasn't going anywhere without Pap. So, Pap and Camden came in and ate their ice cream together.

Camden loves Pap, and Pap loves Camden - they are best buds!

Clean House, Clean Car, and Clean Hair

As you can see, Camden is learning how to clean - we've been doing that non-stop around here this weekend. Our son definitely knows where the bubbles go!

Playin' in the Park

Having a picnic and playing in the park was the highlight of our afternoon! This was the first time Camden has been to the city park since he's been walking and he sure did enjoy it!

Gotta run and prepare for our craft after nap time. We have a special treat for Pappy and Grammy Yake to celebrate their birthdays!

Get cozy........it may take awhile!

Generally, before I blog, I know exactly what I'm going to blog about. However, this time it has been so long since I've blogged and we've done so much I had to review the photos on my camera card to trigger my memory on what all has happened since The Wiggles concert. So, sit down, get cozy, and relax because it may take awhile to catch up! Please be aware - there will probably be lots of mis-spellings but I don't have time to proofread this long post :-)

Tonight as I was finishing up canning salsa, I heard a loud knock at the door. I was certain it was one of hour neighbors considering we live in the middle of no-where-land. I was right. It was our neighbor and he had stopped by to see if Camden would like a ride on the Gator. Sure enough, Camden wanted to ride. He had a nice time and cried when the ride was over.

We have a huge bay window in our family room. The outside of the window is always dirty with dust, bugs, water marks, etc. We clean it and it doesn't seem to matter. Austin was working on his honey do list and he got some much needed help!

From our backyard if you go down and then up a hill, you will arrive at our neighbors farm (we actually live on his farm). Neighbor Alan has lots of big farm equipment (tractors, trailors, forklifts, a Gator, trucks, etc. and Camden loves it all. While we were outside waiting for Daddy to come home last week, Camden thought he'd go visit Alan and attemp to con him into a Gator ride. Look out Alan, here I come!

Look at those big teeth. Believe it or not, Camden enjoys brushing his teeth. We started brushing only at night in the bathtub, but we're working our way up to twice a day - when getting dressed in the morning and before bed in the tub. Camden allows me to brush his as long as he can brush mine, and, yes, he attempts to use his toothbrush in my mouth.

Lately, Camden has been enjoying his sandbox. On the days that I'm home with him, after his nap, we generally play outside while we wait for Daddy to arrive home from work. Another outside favorite is the coupe car. Cam will get in and out of the card a dozen times. There is just something about opening and shutting that little door that is so facinating. Recently he as figured out the car has a trunk. He has successfully climbed into the trunk but I been able to document that yet - hopefully I will soon.

Here is my latest project which was a gift to my sister and brother-in-law. This photo doesn't look great as the cardboard behind the glass is still there. The picture is actually clear so the wall color will shine through. The next time I visit my sister I'll try to get a better picture when it is hung on the wall. I made this using my Cricut. I hope to make more in the future and will showcase; however, most of these creations will be gifts so I'll have to share after the gift is given.

This photo is funny or at least I think so. I was painting my toes while Camden was bathing. I looked up and he had his paci, the slinky on his arm, and the colander on his head. He's got such an imagination already!

A few weeks ago, our church had the Fall youth kick-off. Camden and his friend Tory (that goes to the sitter with him) enjoyed time on the blow jumping cage and slide. Camden's Daddy had a good time too!

Oh, and this past weekend we went to the Antique Show. Austin goes to teh Antique Show annually. Last year I went along and we took Camden. He was only 6 months old and enjoyed being outdoors and riding is his stoller. Well, this year, Camden was fully aware of what was going on around him. He wanted to ride all the tractors and any other type of machinery on wheels. While he didn't get to ride the tractor, Great Grandpa Gerrie and Cousin Cory and Tegan took him for a few rides on the golf cart. He also enjoyed the pot bellied pigs, baby calf, rooster, lambs and goats. I can already tell that the Antique Show is right up Camden's alley - just like his dad. Did I mention I forgot my camera? Well, I did and wasn't able to capture the events of the day on film.

I need to go and get all these photos uploaded to Shutterfly. Bye for now, but check back soon. Perhaps I'll post again this week, well maybe the weekend!
