Meet Buster....

aka "Butter" as Camden calls them. One kid is named Buster and the other doesn't have a name....yet.

Camden's Pappy is borrowing a goat. The deal is that Pappy borrows the pregnant goat and delivers the kids (the baby goats). Then, when Pappy's sheep have baby lambs, the Mommy's goat will have enough milk for the kids and baby lambs. When the kids are weaned, Pappy takes the kids back to the original owner. I'm not sure how good of a deal this is, but Pappy thinks it is a great deal. Borrowing the goat for the milk is cheaper than buying baby lamb formula (or milk replacement as he calls it). I don't know, what do you think?

Camden was not interested in the goats the first day they were born. He was content looking at them from afar, but when my dad scooped up one of the kids into his arms, the kid began to cry. Then Camden began to cry. But, after a few visits, Camden has become fond of the kids and enjoys chasing them around inside the pen. The kids enjoy jumping upon on him and Cam thinks it is so funny.

On Christmas, Pappy delivered two new baby lambs. We're not exactly sure if Cam prefers "eep" over "goats."

Here are a few photos of Camden playing with the kids after they were born and feeding (or "feed eep" as Camden says) the Momma lamb before her new babies came.

Oh, and I want to mention how thankful we are to Pappy and Nana for the coveralls, coat, and hat. Without all the "gear", Camden wouldn't be able to play outside in the cold.

Scrapbook Challenge

Ever since I have began scrapbooking (back in 2006), I have dreamed about submitting pages to my favoriate magazines - Creating Keepsakes and Scrapbook Etc. Well, I finally feel confident to take the plunge and give it try. So, here are a few pages will be submitting to the Creating Keepsake gallery this month. Wish me luck - I'd love to have a page or two published and hopefully win some free scrapbooking products to experiment with!

Oh, and I want to mention that if you are a scrapbooker and haven't heard of Project Life or Project 365, you should check out Becky Higgins' blog (www.beckyhiggins.com). This will be my first Project Life experience and I'm so excited. I'm already planning all the photos I will take to include in my 2010 album!

Note: The images you see are photographs of my pages. I haven't figured out how to shrink 12X12 sizing down using a 8X11 scanner - if you know how, please help!

Moving Dirt.....

it doesn't sound all that exciting, but to us, it is!

After renting a home for nearly 3 years, we are more than ready for our own place. I am ready for a little color and personality and Austin is ready for some garage room. We must continue to be patient as it will still be another year before have our own place, but at least we are making progress.

For our patch of land, the survey is complete and by mid-January, the dirt should be in place and ready for a basement hole.

Here is a glimpse of the progress..............

Santa's In Town

Camden, we took you to see Santa again this year. The moment we stepped into the door, you attempted to turn the door knob and head back outdoors. You were not impressed with Santa.

Santa had several gifts for you to choose from and you chose a package of cars. You wanted to show Santa the cars.

But, you didn't want Santa to hold you and you let him know very quickly.

We'll try again next year. Next year you may even have your very own list for Santa!

Are You Looking For A Nutritious Snack?

While I myself do not eat healthy and should be more selective of the type and amounts of food that I eat, I will admit that I'm a bit picky on what I feed to my sweet son.

Luckily, he loves yogurt and it is packed with nutrition. And, you can pour it, you can spoon it, you can drink it, you can rub it (everywhere), and it drips from your fingers onto the floor very easily!

I never said that is was an easy, quick snack (it requires floor mopping, laundry, and a bath)!

And after all the hard work that comes with eating yogurt - a boy nees a nap........

Christmas Crafting

My hopes and plans were to create a fun Christmas card with winter family photos; however, we weren't able to get our family photos taken in time for me to do so. I will begin planning earlier next year.

However, I did manage to get a few Christmas cards to family and friends that we will not be fortunate enough to see this holiday season - so please consider yourself extra special if you received one of the very few Christmas cards that we did send out.

For our playgroup friends that missed playgroup last week at the Graber's, I do have gifts for you so here is a sneak peak. We plan to attend playgroup this week. If you aren't able to make it, you will get your gift, just maybe after Christmas. But, that is okay, it is better late then never, isn't it? While you are waiting, here is a sneak peak.

And, if anyone would like details on how to create this cute little gift idea, please leave a comment!

Christmas Cookie Tradition

My childhood memories of the Christmas season always begin with our Christmas Sugar Cookie tradition. I don't recall making sugar cookies any other time other than Christmas. It was a time that my mom would bring out the old wooden rolling pin (with red handles) and allow my sister and I the opportunity to stand up at the counter on the kitchen stool and take turns dumping in flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda. On occasion she would allow us to crack the egg but always made sure the shell didn't fall into the batter. Rolling out the dough and gently pushing down the cookies cutter was a rewarding task. After the making of the cookies, Mom would bring out the food coloring and powered sugar. Once we mixed up 4 bowls of yellow, green, red, and blue icing along with red and green sugar crystals, the decorating began. These were fun times and I'm glad that these memories still remain clearly in my mind (and in photos).

At 27 years of age, I still love to bake and decorate Christmas Cookies and share with friends and family. While last year Camden's first Christmas Cookie experience was comprised of him using the measuring cups to beat on the metal bowl, he fully particpated in the fun this year. You can see for yourself.

And, yes, he did have his fair share of cookie helpings prior to the cookies being baked (mommy and daddy did too)! This is a tradition I hope to continue for years to come, and I'm grateful that my hubby chose to partipate too!

*Had a relaxing Thanksgiving with the Yake Family and ate yummy, yummy food!

*Decorated our Christmas tree

*Welcomed two baby goats into our family (well, into Pappy's family)while helping Pap feed his sheep

*Playing outdoors as much as possible

We hope you are enjoying this fall season just as we are!
