Last week I worked my normal part-time work schedule. However, my days off I spend in the kitchen canning green beans and corn. Boy, canning and freezing is hard work! Really, I do enjoy preserving the food from our garden; however, after nearly 80 bags of corn and 100 quarts of green beans along with several bags of broccoli and zucchini, jars of carrots, beats, and pickles, I'm beginning to get tired of of gardening, freezing, and canning. And, we still have tomato juice and salsa to do in a few weeks or so. We will be saving money on groceries this winter so that is a major plus!
Sorry, I digressed! As a reward for working lots of hours, my boss was generous and allowed our team to take a week off to rest and catch up on family time. So, I've been off work since last Thursday and will not return until Thursday. I certainly can handle working only one day a week on a regular basis, couldn't you?
During "my break" I have been able to catch up on some much needed play time with Camden and scrapbooking. Camden and I haven't done anything too special other then spending time together outside (his favorite place to be). We played in the water hose several times this weekend. Although the water is fridged, he thinks it is so fun to get sprayed and spray Mommy. We've take rides in the wagon, on the lawn tractor, and on his combine (breaking in for the harvest season). Today, we were BUMMED OUT as we had our laundry basket packed with a picnic lunch and we were going to meet Daddy at the park for lunch since Daddy is surveying for the next few weeks. We hoped in the car and before we made it to the park it began to storm. So, we turned around and came home and resumed with our picnic on the kitchen bar. At least Daddy was able to come home and enjoy lunch with us. I guess we'll try again next week on one of days off.
We are looking forward to playgroup tomorrow. We haven't seen our friends in a month due to working and gardening. We sure do miss them. I think Camden will have a great time this week since he now walks around on his own and he can actually follow and play with the other kids.
Did I mention that this past weekend was Scrapbook Weekend? Well, it was, and this is what I accomplished along with getting ALL my photos organized and in photo boxes so that everything is ready for scrapping!
Okay, here are the photos for this post. One of my sweet farmer boy and others of my successful scrapbook day! I'll go now before I get off onto another tangent. Plus, Camden is awaking from his nap and we have more playing to do.
