A journal

A few weeks ago I began thinking about a bridal gift (you know, for a bridal shower). I always try to go back and think of my favorite gifts that I received at my own bridal shower 6 years ago. I had pondered just going to Kohl's and selecting a gift from the registry. The gift of cash entered my mind. But, I wanted something different but not quite sure what.

One of my passions at this time in my life is recording memories - whether it be here on this blog, in a traditional journal format, iPhoto, in a scrapbook, or in a photobox. I just love collecting memories in an tangible form. Sadly, I didn't begin my memory record keeping in a tangible format when I had first gotten married. I often think about how fun it would be to go back and read journals of my thoughts and feelings as well as my trials and triumphs during my first year of marriage.

So, I decided to create a homemade journal - you know, use my Cricut with vinyl, cute paper, chipboard, glue dots, etc. One important step in this journal making process I wasn't quite sure how to accomplish. This step I couldn't quite figure out is quite important - to make a journal, you have to have pages BOUND TOGETHER. I have lots of scrapbooking tools, but not a book binder.

After a few days of thought - I came up with a solution - research and learn how to bind with a needle and thread.

A coptic starch did the trick.

I promise......you can learn how to do anything on UTube. You may need to watch the demo a hundred times a few nights in a row, but anything is possible with UTube.

Hmmm, I think my next UTube experience will be CS4 Photoshop.....
