Another Exciting Week for the Yake's

First of all, we'd like to say Happy 2nd Birthday Madalyn! Next, Congratulations to Cory and Teagan. According to Craig, Cory "got it done" and he bowed down on one knee and got engaged. "Engaged" means that Taegan got a wedding ring and he is going to have a sister-in-law. Craig thinks a sister-in-law will be like Bethie. Hey, a cousin or a sister-in-law, it's all the same right? We're going to have to work on how the family tree branches out and how our family is all related! Today we had another doctor's appointment. Daddy, Mommy, and Baby are doing great. Baby's heartbeat is in the high 130s / low 140s range. We've got 8 weeks from today until our offical due date. Dr. Frances reports that Baby is measuring approximatley 33 weeks. Maybe the Baby will big or maybe he/she will come a bit early. I guess we'll wait and see! We hope everyone is having a good week, and we wish everyone a safe and fun weekend!

Back Together Again

This week was a busy week! On Tuesday, we got news that I didn't pass the glucose tolerance test that I took during doctors visit on Friday. On Wednesday, Austin left for his annual trip to Indianapolis for the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors convention, and I went back to the doctor for another glucose tolerance test. After getting my blood drawn 4 times in only 3 hours my phobia of needles has drifted away! On Thursday, Kent and Jan were kind enough to entertain me for the evening by taking me out to eat at the Pepperoni Grill. Thank you Kent and Jan for keeping me company last night. Thursday was a day of great news - I passed the second glucose tolerance test. This is a blessing because sweets and carbs are my all time favorites! Today has been a wonderful day as I when I arrived home from work, Austin was home! Most of you know that I don't get overly excited about being home alone or hanging out by myself. I know that tonight I will get lots of rest now that Austin has arrived home safely. Also, I would like to thank my mom for staying with me on Wednesday night. I must admit that after living in town and the city my whole life it can be a bit scary through the night out in the boonies on a gravel road!

Happy 50th Birthday Mom!

What an exciting week! On Tuesday, Austin and I attended our first childbirth class. To say the least, if I was not a bit scared before Tuesday, I'm more terrified than ever now. But, I know there will be a reward when it is all said and done. While we were touring the birthing center Austin's words were "this makes me excited!" However, mine were "this makes me scared to death!" Please be praying for me the next 10 weeks as I learn to tolerate pain! Yesterday was to be a super exciting day for us! We had been waiting for nearly 10 weeks to see a picture our baby. Because we decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise, we were excited to at least see his or her face via a 3D/4D ultrasound. Early Friday morning when we arrived at the doctor's office, we had an ultrasound, but the little one was lying face down looking at Mommy's back. After about 15 minutes of attempting to take the 3D/4D photo the baby was not about to cooperate. We sure hope this isn't a sign! After all our lab work was complete, we gave it a second try and the baby was still sound asleep not the least bit interested in getting his or her picture taken. Well, we've waited this long, what's another 10 weeks? Another big milestone occurred yesterday at is was my mom's 50th birthday. To celebrate mom, we had dinner at Mi Pueblo's. Happy Birthday Mom! We love you!
