A Happy Birthday Walk-A-Thon

Yes, you heard me - we have been having a walk-a-thon at our home this evening. Today, while I was working, Austin called to check-in with me around lunch to let me know what he and Camden have been up to and ask me what I wanted him to fix for dinner. And, he said that Camden had been walking around some today. He would often tumble down and Austin would stand him back up and he'd take off again. While I did get some video footage of Camden walking, I have yet to get actual photo. He walks too fast for me to shoot with a flash and it was too dark this evening inside to get photos with no flash. I will try again tomorrow outside if the weather permits.

Well, I got home from work a little earlier than expected today and thank goodness I did. Camden has been WALKING all over the house ALL EVENING long. He know WALKS more than he crawls. He still stumbles but he will get back up on his feet ON HIS OWN and KEEPS WALKING.

I must admit that I will miss his cute little rear stuck in the air crawling around. Even though Camden is 16 1/2 months was was still a baby before today because he still required to be carried. However, he is now officially a TODDLER. My, oh my, the time has gone so quickly.

Some other new things Camden is doing include: singing the itsy bitsy spider with motions thanks to Nana Bear, patty-cake patty-cake, point to his button (belly button), and point to his nose (which generally results in his little pointer halfway up his nose).

Earlier this week, Camden visited the 4-H Fair for the first time. Believe it or now, but all animals ba, ba, ba. For those of you that don't know, my dad raises show lambs and is crazy about sheep. So, Camden knows exactly what a sheep is and how it sounds. Not only do all animals ba, ba, ba - to Camden my dad (or Pappy) ba ,ba, bas. He definitely associates his Pappy with a sheep!

Oh, and we must not forget that TODAY is Aunt Allie's birthday. Aunt Allie, we almost 100% sure that our walk-a-thon tonight is in celebration of your birthday. We are excited to see you in only 1 more day! Love ya!

Because I never post without a picture, here is a funny one. Camden was home against with Daddy yesterday while I was in teh office. Austin said that Camden was "missing" and it was very quite. No babbling whatsoever. Austin went hunting for Camden and this is what he found in our mud room - Camden trying on his boots.

Wow, I am so behind on blogging!

What little extra time that I have to myself has been spent cleaning, laundry, writing in Camden's journal, and preparing more photos to scrapbook.

The last few weeks I have worked full-time in the office. I greatly admire you mommiess out there who work full-time. I can't quite figure out how you make it all work - play with your kids, keep house, do laundry, busy schedules, and spend time with your spouse. After this week, hopefully, I'll be back to my 'normal' routine for at least a few more weeks (before Austin returns to school for the fall semster).

Over the last few weeks, here are the fun things we have done.

Big Splash Adventure Waterpark With Playgroup Friends

Traveled to visit Uncle Miles and Aunt Allie's - Camden's highlight of the trip was riding his tractor down Uncle Miles and Aunt Allie's driveway. Camden would ride down hill and then push his tractor up hill to ride down again. Oh, and yes the boots look silly, but he loves to wear these boots and it isn't worth the fuss to put more fashionable shoes on my boy.

Celebrated 5 Years As Husband and Wife - Sorry no pictures of this event as Camden isn't quite old enough to operate our camera. We did celebrate with a meal at Biaggis (sp?) and a few shopping stops afterwards. We are truly bless to have a great marriage. It has been a wonderful 5 years and many more to come!
