A Wonderful, Special Weekend

What a special weekend! Camden has learned to hold a toy and entertain himself with it.I'm pretty sure he's saying "Look Mommy, Look Daddy - I can play now!" This is just another precious milestone that our precious boy has achieved. This weekend Camden met his cousins (Aubrey, Madalyn, and Landon) for the very first time. Landon was most interested in Camden. We think it is because Landon's Mommy wanted to hold Camden and Landon has not had to share his Mommy with any other baby boy. In just a few short months we are hoping that Landon and Camden enjoy each other as much as Aubrey and Madalyn enjoy each other.During the Yake family cookout this weekend, we took the opportunity to take some family photos. We do our best to get photos each time we are all together as a family. This is Camden's first Yake family photo shoot. It is so much fun to look back at past photos to see how much everyone has changed.

On Sunday, our sweet Sarah Smith was bapitzed into the family of Christ by her Daddy. It seemslike only yesterday that Sarah was Camden's age.It is truly amazing to see Sarah grow into a beautiful young woman. Congratulations Sarah - we love you!

Last but certaintly not least, Camden met Emilee for the very first time. And, they are already friends - right Emilee? Emiliee has been studying abroad this semester in England. She made it home safelyand we all were so happy to see her. Wecome home Emilee - you were very much missed!

Have a great week, and we'll be back soon!

Love,
Austin, Beth, and Camden

Happy Spring!

It's been over a week now since our last post. Lots has happened this past week, and we would like to share some of this week's highlights. Here is a picture of Camden last Thursday when he turned 5 weeks old.Camden celebrated the day by staying awake about 10 hours with only a few 15 minute cat naps. We are hoping that he does not think he's too big for naps now! Saturday was filled with fun as our friend Brooke came over to play with us. Brooke's mommy is one of my mommy's very best friends. Daddy joined in on our play date. Brooke is 5 months old and she loves to swing. Here she is in my swing having a blast. For lunch we loaded up in Daddy's truck and went to Reid's Sandwich Shop. Brooke is fully awake and ready to ride, but I thought I'd catch a little snooze on the way. Needless to say, by the time we arrived at Reid's, Brooke was conked out too.On Wednesday, Mommy and I were invited to Steph and Riley Young's house for a play date. There were 7 mommies, 7 babies, and 1 toddler. What a house full! Of the 7 babies, 6 of the babies are 6 months old and younger. Here is a group photo (you can see that I am not fond of this photo shoot). From left to right, Camden Yake (6 weeks), Gabe Knepp (12 months), Meredith Bean (3 months), Ava Rainey (3 years), Riley Young (6 months), Aspen Rainey (4 months), and Caitlyn Cribbs (4 months). Emily Ash (6 months) came too, but she and her mommy had to leave a litle early. We had a very good time and are looking forward to our next play date at the park in a few weeks.
Today Camden is 6 weeks old. It feels like yesterday that he arrived. It is amazing to see him grow so quickly. At 6 weeks he has begun to sleep through the night, greatly enjoys swinging, loves to set on Daddy's knees and coo, beginning to like tummy time, and is eating like a little piggy. We are very much looking forward to the next few weeks as Camden should begin giving us genuine smiles (and not just when he has gas). We are truly amazed how parenthood can pull at the heartstrings!

Beautiful Day

We are so grateful for a wonderful weekend. On Sunday after church we went to get our first family photos taken. It was so much fun. Camden was awake the whole time and did great. Afterwards we stopped in town to take a walk. This was Camden's first walk in his stroller. Camden loved it!

Camden is now beginning to truly enjoy tummy time. He is becoming much stronger and able to control his head while on his tummy and when being held.

That is all for now. We'll be back soon!
