Summer Fun

it's about gardening, riding bikes, and swimming!

Happy Daddy Day

This year, Camden and his daddy spent the day going to church, taking a nap, watching the fair parade, and swimming.

I think they both had a great Happy Daddy Day!

Beautiful Bride

It's been two weeks since my last post, and so much has happened in the last two weeks it seems like it was months ago. I won't share every detail of the last two weeks because, frankly, I don't have much time. My time is limited as I'm entertaining Camden with safe scrapbook tools while I post as Daddy is enjoying antique tractor and semi pulling at the fair.

The weekend of June 12th, we married off my little sister. For those who know me well, it is no surprise that Allison and I haven't been the best of sisters over the years. Back as far as I can remember, our relationship was filled with arguing, fighting, jealousy, competition, and harsh actions and words. We don't share many of the same interests and our personalities are much different.

She enjoys sports, exercising (especially running), eating healthy, sun bathing, and resting. She operates "fly by night" and doesn't need much preparation for her busy schedule or to do the things she enjoys. She likes to take it easy and a messy house, car, or room doesn't bother her too much. She is frugal and it doesn't take much to make her happy.

I, on the other hand, do not enjoy sports. And, it is quite obvious that I don't exercise or eat healthy. Instead, I enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, the satisfaction of a clean, organized home. I plan, plan, and plan for everything and become disgruntled when my things don't go as planned. I like to be on the go either going somewhere or completing a major project at home. A times I can be a major shopaholic and spend too much money on material things such as clothes, scrapbooking, etc.

With all that said, in the last year and half or so our relationship has grown leaps and bounds and we now have a relationship that sisters should have. Yes, we still disagree on lots of things, but we have been able set those disagreements aside and spend time together doing things we both enjoy. Over the the last 18 months we've enjoyed wedding shopping trips, yummy meals, Camden's birth, days at the pool, lots of visits, holidays, major milestones with Camden, and a wedding. I have enjoyed every minutes I have spent with my sister lately. Hopefully, in the next few weeks we will be able to make the trip to Missouri to visit and continue making fun memories.
