Camden's Pappy is borrowing a goat. The deal is that Pappy borrows the pregnant goat and delivers the kids (the baby goats). Then, when Pappy's sheep have baby lambs, the Mommy's goat will have enough milk for the kids and baby lambs. When the kids are weaned, Pappy takes the kids back to the original owner. I'm not sure how good of a deal this is, but Pappy thinks it is a great deal. Borrowing the goat for the milk is cheaper than buying baby lamb formula (or milk replacement as he calls it). I don't know, what do you think?
Camden was not interested in the goats the first day they were born. He was content looking at them from afar, but when my dad scooped up one of the kids into his arms, the kid began to cry. Then Camden began to cry. But, after a few visits, Camden has become fond of the kids and enjoys chasing them around inside the pen. The kids enjoy jumping upon on him and Cam thinks it is so funny.
On Christmas, Pappy delivered two new baby lambs. We're not exactly sure if Cam prefers "eep" over "goats."
Here are a few photos of Camden playing with the kids after they were born and feeding (or "feed eep" as Camden says) the Momma lamb before her new babies came.
Oh, and I want to mention how thankful we are to Pappy and Nana for the coveralls, coat, and hat. Without all the "gear", Camden wouldn't be able to play outside in the cold.
