Fun At the Museum

Camden,

Instead of a big birthday party, we chose to have a small gathering the night before your birthday. We had a few close friends and family over for lasagna, salad, bread, and of course, cupcakes and ice cream (or "panicakes" and "cream" as you would say).

For your big birthday surprise, Daddy and I took you to the museum in Indy. On the two hour drive to the museum, you enjoyed several episodes of The Wiggles. When we first arrived, before we made it to the parking garage, you spotted a "giraffe" which was actually a big long-neck dinosaur. So, the shape and color is a bit different, but it did have a long neck like a giraffe.

You were amazed with all the "kids" and wanted to follow anyone and everyone around. Our first stop was the train station - you were amazed. Since you have been watching I Love Toy Trains for several weeks you knew all about the train station.

We visited a few more displays that were mainly for older kids and you weren't too interested. After a picnic lunch in the car (Mommy had to dump her camera memory card at lunch as it got full in the museum) of PB&J, pretzels, and yogurt we returned to the museum.

The afternoon was filled with lots of fun for you as we visited two more attractions that were for kids just your size. The first was the Story Area. You were attracted to the water display. We put a water apron on you and you played in the water for quite some time. You also enjoyed the bobcat. The next stop was Bob The Builders Workshop. While you aren't familiar with Bob the Builder, you were amazed with all the trucks and had to "ride" each one of them several times (even though the trucks were stationary). You enjoyed the garden - it was a little garden display where there were several carrots, potatoes, and onions that you could plant in a make believe garden. It, by far, was your favorite activity. It is as if you remembered all the gardening we did last summer and you were ready for another round of gardening. It won't be too much longer until we are planting our real garden - just a few more weeks!

After a fun day in Indy, we headed to Mi Pueblo and celebrated "Sarwa's" Sweet 16. She shared the birthday song and hat with you, but you did not like it! Mommy didn't have her camera for this, but promised to get pictures from the Smiths.

We had a long, eventful week last week with revival at church and birthday celebrations and very much appreciated the relaxing week that followed.

We hope you enjoyed your special day!

We love you,
Mommy and Daddy

Birthday Idea

Hi Friends.

I know many of you appreciate a good deal. So, I will share.....

I bought this Wilton cupcake stand at a garage sale a few summers ago for maybe $2 to $3. It as been in the cabinet and hasn't been used.

At Wal-mart, I bought one box of Pillsbury white cake mix for $.88 and two containers of Pillsbury whipped frosting for $1.50 each (one container would have worked, but I preferred both vanilla and chocolate frosting for taste and looks). Also, one container of Great Value chocolate sprinkles for $.97.

I baked and iced these on my own and make small 1.5 inches circles with my favorite scrapbooking tool - the Cricut Expression. I have lots, lots, and lots of scrapbooking supplies so I had the brown cardstock on hand. I didn't have a #2 stamp, but I did have a small alphabet. So, with my white ink pad and my alpha stamps, glue dots, and toothpicks I created my own cupcake toppers.

Do you like it?
