A Sunday Evening...............

Last night was a bit long. Austin and I are convinced that Camden is beginning to teethe. We were up every hour attempting to console our little man. He wanted to snuggle in the recliner all night long. So after church this morning and lunch at my parents', Austin, Camden, and I took a nap all afternoon. At 5 p.m. we finally all woke up. After some play time, Austin got busy in writing a test for his students while Camden and I completed some much needed chores. Here are some photos of our evening.

Camden in his walker for the first time. It appears that it will be stationary for awhile as his little legs don't touch the ground even on the short heigth setting.

Camden playing and watching Mommy do dishes and Daddy creating a test.

Believe it or not, but Camden really does like doing laundry.

Fall Is Here..........

The Yake Family is so happy that fall is finally here! It is so nice to go outside and not sweat and not need a coat. This week was a typical week as we didn't have too much going on. Monday and Tuesday after I got home from work and picked up Camden we picked up sticks and limbs in our yard from last Sunday's wind storm, fixed dinner for Daddy, and got ready for bed. Wednesday morning, I took Camden to get his 6 month immunizations. While we were there, I received a pertussis tetanus vaccine (I forget how sore your arm becomes after a tetanus shot). After receiving our vaccinations we went to the grocery at Save-a-Lot to stock up on baby food (for all you moms out there Save-a-lot has Beechnut baby food jars for $.40 which is about $.25 cheaper than Wal-mart or JayC - quite a savings when you buy about 40 jars at a time). Then we went to the park to for our play date. We were few in numbers but had a lot of fun. Camden played at the park for his first time and loved the swing. We took lots of pictures for Daddy and here are just a few!

Thursday I worked and Camden played all day with Nana and Pappy. Grammy and Pappy Yake came over for pizza in the evening. On Friday, Camden and I went with Austin to work. Camden and I make a quick trip to Kohls and Wal-mart during Daddy's office hour and then made a visit to Daddy's co-workers. Then we went to a cook-out at the Bean's for dinner. We had yummy hot dogs over the fire and my favorite - SMORES! I can't seem to get enough of those yummy treats. I think that is why fall is my favorite time of the year.

Today, well, after waking up and feeding Camden I've done 2 loads of laundry, baked a chicken, picked some apples and pears, uploaded pictures to Shutterfly, finished picking up sticks in the yard, and have made 2 pumpkin pies. Oh, and have updated this blog. My folks are coming over for dinner this evening, so I need to run and start peeling potatoes and cleaning the chicken for the chicken casserole. That's all for now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

6 Months Old

Last Saturday Camden turned 6 months old. I can't hardly believe it. It has been the fastest 6 months of my life and I can honestly say that I have learned to slow down and treasure every moment of it!

On Monday, Camden had his 6 month well-baby check-up. Camden has grew 2 inches and is now 25.5 inches long. He's in the 50th percentile in length. His head circumference has grown an inch and is now 16.5 inches and is the 50th percentile for head circumference. As for weight he is the 25th percentile weighing 14 lbs. 5 oz. which is only a few oz. heavier than his 4 month check-up. Dr. Cullen didn't seem to be worried too much as he has doubled his weight at 6 months. Doc did say that he'd like to see Camden eat a little more at a setting and eat a little less often. And, he thought Camden should be sleeping through the night now without a snack. Almost a week later we are still attempting to increase feedings as Camden doesn't seem to want more than 4-5 oz. at each feeding and still wants to eat every 4 hours or so. He did sleep from about 10 pm last night until 6:30 am this morning after having a little cereal before bed. So, I guess we'll continue with that ritual. This week Camden gets his shots again and we'll go to see how we are doing on weight gain.

We didn't do anything too exciting this week as Austin had a busy week at work with class and meetings. Camden and I got to spend a few evenings together - just the two of us. It was nice not having to share Camden with Daddy, but we sure did miss him!

Aunt Allie came home this weekend to visit. During her visit, Aunt Allie, Nana, and Great-Grandma E. watched Camden while Mommy printed photos at CVS and made a quick, much needed trip to Wal-mart. This also allowed Daddy to help Pappy get some work done at the farm. By the way, Pappy is getting around much better than last weekend. His ribs are healing, but he still isn't able to return to work just yet. Camden has been lucky to have both Nana and Pappy at home watching him this week while Mommy and Daddy worked!

Here is photo update from this week!
